On special demand: Here’s a closer look at Ajay Devgn in his celebrated mafia king avatar Rahim Lala in Gangubai Kathiawadi : The Tribune India

Team Gangubai Kathiawadi is busy making the right noise. With the much-anticipated trailer and two songs, we got an idea about Alia Bhatt’s fiery and fierce character. The actress has given it her all and that reflects in these glimpse.

Although these glimpses raised the excitement among viewers, there wasn’t much revealed about Ajay Devgn’s character in the trailer. Now, on special demand from the audience to see more of Ajay Devgn as Ram Rahim, the makers have dropped a gripping character trailer.

The superstar is back in his celebrated mafia king avatar in the film. And Ajay Devgn as Rahim Lala looks savage in this new clip.

Ajay’s Rahim Lala makes an impressive entry in this 50-second teaser as a lady’s voice in the background establishes him as “Lala, the king of Mumbai. They say he is a man of faith and religion. He is truthful and I’ve heard he is good looking too…” As the camera follows, we see an injured Gangu (Alia) reaching out Lala for help. The teaser depicts how Rahim Lala becomes Gangu’s biggest support and encourages her to fight for the lives of 4000 girls, which becomes her mission. Gangubai seems to idolise Lala as she is shown touching his feet.

At the end of the clip, Lala makes Gangu his business partner and calls her ‘Gangubai Mafia Queen’.

This trailer shows Ajay is a helpful don who lives by his principles.

The 52-year-old actor took to his Instagram to share the teaser. In the caption, Ajay wrote, “Imaan. Dharam. Dhanda.Aa rahe hai hum 6 dino mein. #GangubaiKathiawadi in cinemas on 25th Feb.”

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi plays the titular role in the film. She plays a young girl who was sold into prostitution by her suitor Ramnik Lal. The story revolves around how her character fights all odds and evolves as a strong force. The movie has been adapted from a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The movie also stars Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa in importat roles. Gangubai Kathiawadi film is all set to release theatrically on February 25.
